USTC successfully holds 2005 Robo-Game Activity Week from 7th to 16th, October. There are 31 student teams partcipating robot drama and robot battle items, displaying the achievements obtained in USTC students extracurricular creative activities to the full.
Differing with the former 4 Robo-Game Activity Week, the robot dance is changed for robot drama this time. The variable robots designed by eight groups are well performed on the stage against the music and dialogues. Every robot becomes the machine fairy full of wisdoms, incisively and vividly showing the plays with themes being love or affection, so they win the hot welcome from the audience. Finally the Sigma Team from Electronic Engineering and Information Science Department hits the first prize marked by experts and spectators. Their team takes the form of wire carved figure to perform "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai", the famous Chinese ancient love story. The second prize is awarded to Dreamcather Team.
The robot battle is attractive as the robot drama. Through the intensive contests, the RoboKing Team from Electronic Engineering and Information Science Department comes to the fore among the 16 teams, and wins the first prize with the sheer advantages.
Due to the robot designs concerning with fine mechanics, electronics and automation, it demands team members to work hard together and cooperate with one another. This competition help the every player improve the ability of doing things by themselves to the large extent.
USTC is well known for "Robot Football Hometown". Early in 1998, USTC carried out the robots research and teaching, as well as set the junior and senior seminars. The annual Robo-Game Activity Week has been USTC largest-scaled, high-leveled and wide-effected special campus science and technology culture activity.
