| USTC to Invest 0.27 Billion Yuan in the Construction of 11 Key Disciplines |
????0.27 billion yuan will be invested in constructing 11 key disciplines at USTC. Experts from 8 research institutes have carried out the feasibility study of the second-phase construction items of the "Project 211".
????According to the Tenth Five-year Plan, USTC will endeavor to build up some innovative world-class disciplines by supporting the construction of 11 key disciplines and will try to make it one of the excellent centers for educational and scientific resources in China by assisting in the building of three public service systems, which include the university computer net, the digitalization of university libraries and experiment centers at USTC. Likewise, great importance will be attached to the cultivation of its staff and some infrastructure facilities in the implementation of the project.
????In 2001, all of the construction items of the "Project 211" in the Ninth Five-year Plan were checked and accepted. Some influential achievements have been made. The number of national key laboratories at USTC has increased from 4 to 19. | |
