One of the National 863 Projects, "Research and System Demonstration of Impulse-based Ultra-wideband Wireless Communication Key Technology", is approved by the experts on 27th, April. The item is jointly assumed by University of Science and Technology of China and Tsinghua University, Prof. Wang Weidong from USTC Information School being the leader of the task team.
Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a novel wireless transmission technology, and has been regarded as one future wireless development direction for its high speed, low power dissipation, low complexity and light rating spectral density. This item aims at developing self-innovated UWB wireless communication technology and directs at realizing its industrialization, mainly researching on key technology of UWB and radio-frequency CMOS chip design method on the basis of impulsed UWB high-speed data wirelessly transmitting demonstration system. After one year arduous efforts done by task team, they finally realize the UWB transmitting system with impulse speed rate up to 400 Mpps which can transmit several high-definition TV programs simultaneously. It is reported that 400 Mpps is the highest transmitting speed in impulsed UWB field of China.
The experts hear the reports on the stage accomplishment situations of the item and watch the system demonstration. After assessment, experts come to a consensus that task team completes the item successfully and their achievement can represent the top level of China's UWB technology. |
