2005 Summer School Senior Symposium on Earth Physics is convoked at USTC. The symposium is held by Earth and Space Science School of USTC. The Department of Earth Physics bears the responsibilities on specific jobs in session. The elites from the Earth Physics field of the whole world gather at the symposium. More than 60 experts and scholars from correlative universities and units, grouping University of Science and Technology of China, Peking University, Nanjing University, Wuhan Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics, earthquake offices of Anhui, Jiangsu and Yunnan provinces. Senior researcher of Woodshole Ocean Research Institute and doctorate tutor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Lin Jian; Prof. Zhong Shijie and Prof. Zhu Lupei from University of Colorado at Boulder; Prof. Wen Lianxing from State University of New York at Stony Brook; Academician Chen Yu from Earth and Space Science School of USTC and other outstanding Chinese earth physicians give the academic speeches separately. Their reporters systematically introduce the cutting-edge subjects and newly-released developments in the Earth Physics field. The symposium is chaired by Prof. Ni Sidao.
