Prof. Kamarck from Kennedy Government School of Harvard visited USTC MPA Center
Prof. Kamarck from Kennedy Government School of Harvard visited USTC on Jan. 10th. He discussed with heads of the Graduate School, the Business School, the School of Arts and Humanities and the MPA center on such issues as the curricula for the MPA students, teaching method. Prof. Kamarck also introduced the modules and merits of the MPA and MPP teaching in his school and hoped that there would be more exchanges between Harvard and the higher education institutions in China.

Prof. Kamark is an expert on Public Policy in the Kennedy Government School. He was the senior policy consultant of the US former Vice-president Gore. Mr. Peter, US Consulate General in Shanghai accompanied Prof. Kamark.

The Kennedy Government School is one of the top schools not only in Harvard but also in America. It is a training center for the officers in the key position in the US government. Being a research institute on the Governmental Issues, it affects heavily the development of the US society and policy-making of the government. Students from this school are divided into the following categories: full-time Bachelor of Science, Mater of Public Policy, Master of City and Region Planning, Master of Public Administration; part-time MPA and all kinds of professional training. The major courses include Economics, Management, and Application etc. The common teaching methods are the case-study, situation-imitation, interactive study and participation of the research on the real governmental issues.
