The Chief Designer of the CPU "Godson I" Made his Presentation at His Alma Mater
????On the afternoon of Oct. 10th, Professor Hu Weiwu, chief designer of the first Chinese-made CPU "Godson I", delivered a lecture on "The Reflection of Dragon I and the Design of Dragon II" at his alma mater ---- USTC.
????Mr. Hu, now a researcher of the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, graduated from the Department of Computer of USTC in 1991 and earned his doctorate at the Institute of Computing Technology. His research focuses on the structure of the shared storage system, the design of CPU and the high-performance computing. Professor Hu started to design the first Chinese CPU two years ago. With his solid theoretical foundation and continuous efforts, he soon achieved a research breakthrough in collaboration with other scientific workers. In August, the first Chinese-made CPU "Godson I" was successfully developed.
????The development of "Godson I" shows that China has mastered the primary techniques in designing the CPU and puts an end to the history of no Chinese CPUs.
