| USTC Hosts the Fourth AEARU Workshop on Web Technology |
The Fourth AEARU Workshop on Web Technology was held in USTC from Nov. 7th to Nov. 9th, 2001. Present at the meeting were network experts from Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Tsukuba University, Osaka University, Qinghua University, Fudan University, Nanjing University as well as USTC. USTC vice-president Fan Weicheng attended the workshop and delivered a congratulatory speech.
The 4th AEARU Workshop on Web Technology is held and hosted annually in turn by the member universities of the AEARU. USTC was commissioned to host this year's workshop. Altogether 13 experts made speeches at the workshop. Their topics covered a wide range of research fields including web technology research, the application of web technology in research and education, web safety skills against invasions, long-distance education, the application of web safety techniques and supercomputers. Participants exchanged their views on further cooperation in the fields of web technology, sharing web research experience, information sciences and material sciences and came to an agreement on the enhancement of bilateral or multilateral academic exchanges among the AEARU members. | |
