Introduction of the speciality:
Founded in 1980, the Scientific History and Archaeometry Department of USTC provides both Master's and Doctoral Degrees. In the past 20 years, about 200 senior specialists got their degrees here and the speciality has been entitled the National Key Discipline for its characterized teaching and research and the intellectual fruits. It is also the only National Key Discipline in this field around China.

Aim:
In order to meet the needs of turning USTC into the world-class university and complement the National Key Discipline construction, the department invites experts in the fields of History of Science and Technology and Scientific Development Strategy to work for us to build this speciality into a world famous base for research and teaching.

Requirements:
The offer will be given to young scholars with a doctoral or master's degree. He or she must have some experience in teaching and research, the spirit of teamwork, and outstanding achievements.

Task:
Conducting the research and teaching the graduates in the fields of the History of Science and Technology, Scientific Policy and Scientific Development Strategy.

Remuneration:
USTC will offer the experts the position subsidy according to their achievements and positions in addition to the normal salary. USTC will provide them with the necessary working, research and living conditions.

Materials Needed:
1. Application, including a statement of purpose and personal goals, etc.
2. Resume(from university to the present)
3. Certificate of degrees and awards
4. Materials which reflect the intellectual level, such as: the content of thesis, the papers cited and collected, awards and so on.
5. Several representative papers ( copies are acceptable)
6. Some other important intellectual part-time jobs

Note:
Those who meet the requirements for application for "Changjiang Scholar Plan" and "One Hundred Scholars Plan of CAS" should apply for the vacancy according to the requirements issued by USTC.
