USTC Alumnus Chen Lu Awarded "MacArthur Talents Prize"

It is said by lately US media resources of 20th September that Chen Lu is awarded by "MacArthur Talents Prize". She is the second Chinese female scientist who is awarded this prize after Zhuang Xiaowei from Harvard University, also graduated from USTC.
MacArthur Foundation Base is located in Chicago. This prize is awarded to the superior persons scattering in variable fields with creative ideas. The bonus is up to 50 thousand dollars. There are 25 persons obtaining the prize this year. The president of University of California, Berkeley, Robert J. Birgeneau states that he is proud of Chen Lu and other two professors in his college getting this prize. He appreciates that jobs done by Chen Lu and her colleagues bring the campus vigorousness and novel ideas.
