The 2002 university undergraduates' enrollment winds up recently with a total recruitment of 1862, including 1524 men students and 338 women students. Among these, 43 are recommended for admission without taking National Entrance Exams, 54 are admitted to the Special Class for Gifted Young, 57 are enrolled for the training of national defense personnel and 20 are to be trained for specific posts. This year, USTC continued to expand its recruitment in over 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of the central government. The new students exhibit an overall high quality. The average admission score of the National Entrance Examination in Shanghai Municipality recorded 516.04. (Full mark is 630.) That in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces registered 769.62. (Full mark is 900). And the average scores in other 24 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the jurisdictions of the central government including Anhui province, posted 643.48 (Full mark is 750). | |
