The CAS Key Laboratory of Internal Friction and Defects in Solids was founded in 1982 by the late Prof. Tingsui K??, academician of the CAS and pioneering scientist in the field of internal friction. In February 1990, the lab was expanded to the University of Science and Technology of China. The research of the lab focuses on the study of high-frequency and low-temperature mechanical vibration spectroscopy of solids, and the development of advanced functional materials. There are three research groups in the laboratory: the Physics and Chemistry of Defects in Solids Group, the Advanced Functional Material and Ultrasonic Attenuation Research Group, and Energy Materials and Processes Group. | |
