????From March 13 to 15, Mrs. M. H. Aubry, Mayor of Orsay Town of France, and Prof. Maurice X. Francois from the University Pierre et Marie Curie (University Paris 6) visited USTC.
????Prof. Hou Jianguo, Vice-President of USTC welcomed the French friends. The two sides held a warm discussion in the 2nd Meeting Room of USTC on such issues of co-directed Ph. D. candidates and promotion of exchange and cooperation.
????Mrs. AUBRY and Prof. Francois visited with great interest the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, the National Laboratory of Fire science, and the Laboratory of Structural Analysis (CAS).
????On the afternoon of March 14, Prof. Francois delivered a short lecture in the Lab of Structural Analysis (CAS) and received warm welcome.
????On the evening, they met with the Deputy Mayor of Hefei City, leaders of Education Bureau, Hi-Tech Garden and Bureau of Sci. & Tech.
